About Us

Mill Hill Music Complex was founded in 1979 by Roger Tichborne, a young punk rocker who simply needed a place to rehearse. What began as a small local space quickly became a creative hub for top musicians, including members of The Foundations and The Polecats.

Over the past 45 years, the complex has grown into North West London’s largest music studio, welcoming countless musicians, artists, dancers, and creatives through its doors.

We’re proud to have hosted some of the biggest names in music - including the legendary Amy Winehouse, who made Studio 9 her favourite spot to record. Today, our studios are home not just to musicians, but also to dancers, photographers, and producers from across London.

Our reception and shop have grown alongside the studios - the go-to place for everything from strings and drumsticks to snacks and hot drinks. It’s been a lifeline for many musicians over the years, and we’re proud to keep that spirit alive both in-store and online.

And yes - Roger is still playing in a punk band, though perhaps not quite as young as when it all began.
